Become a Candidate

Miss Category Eligibility

If all of the following are true, then the candidate is eligible to compete in a Miss Florida local competition and/or the Open Competition:

    Age

    • Must be no less than 19 years old by December 31, 2022
    • Must be no more than 26 years old on December 31, 2022

    Residency

    • Open Competition: Must have lived, worked, or attended school, full time, for no less than 6 consecutive months in the state of FLORIDA
    • Local Competitions: Must have lived, worked, or attended school, full time, for no less than 6 consecutive months in the qualifying counties for that local competition.

    Must identify as female

      Cannot be pregnant and will not become pregnant during candidate's year of service

        Cannot be a parent or legal guardian and will not become a parent or legal guardian during candidate's year of service

          Cannot be or have ever been married

            Cannot have been convicted of any crime greater than a misdemeanor.

            Eligibility requirements are subject to change as updated guidelines from the Miss America Organization are released.

            Teen Category Eligibility

            If all of the following are true, then the candidate is eligible to compete as an Outstanding Teen in a local competition:

              Age

              • Must be no less than thirteen (13) years old by July 31, 2022.
              • Must be no older than eighteen (18) years of age as of December 31, 2022

              Residency

              • Must have lived, worked, or attended school, full time, for no less than 6 consecutive months in the counties covered by the local competition that the teen seeks to participate in

              Must identify as female

                Cannot be pregnant and will not become pregnant during candidate's year of service

                  Cannot be a parent or legal guardian and will not become a parent or legal guardian during candidate's year of service

                    Cannot be or have ever been married

                      Cannot have been convicted of any crime greater than a misdemeanor.

                      Eligibility requirements are subject to change as new guidelines are provided by the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization.
